Bed Monster — Animal Hospital Wiki
Bed Monster under-bed hazard: red square grab, Maple Syrup counter, E-mash escape, and patient safety in Animal Hospital.

Bed Monster Spawns
Bed Monster lurks beneath patient beds in treatment rooms when event triggers. Red square or dark hands grab players or patients who step too close, draining Sanity heavily while hold continues. Can appear any Shift once rooms active. Often interrupts treatment mid-DNA.
Notification may not always be loud—watch floor markers near bed foot. Patients grabbed die if ignored, hurting Shift score like wrong medicine.
Anomalies on beds may still trigger Bed Monster—do not assume host is safe because they passed shutter once.
Maple Syrup Counter
Feed Maple Syrup to Bed Monster to despawn peacefully—same item used for low sugar treatment, so runners must read context. Monitor ailment icon versus grab event: if grab active, Syrup pacifies monster; if monitor shows low sugar on stable patient, Syrup heals.
Carry Syrup when entering rooms with bed warnings from co-op callouts. Pre-drop on floor near door for fast pickup.
Without Syrup, mash E repeatedly to escape grab with Sanity loss—backup only.
E-Mash Escape
If grabbed without Syrup, spam interact to break free. Sanity plummets during long grabs—Coffee immediately after release.
Second player cannot always pull you off; self-mash primary. Co-op should finish grab rescue before treating same room patient.
Grab during Tentacle surgery doubles disaster—Syrup pre-staged mandatory Room 8.
Protecting Patients
Patients wandering into red zone grab like players. Escort fainted bodies onto bed carefully—place away from marked square if visible.
Hiders chasing runners may push them into grab zone—path beds wide.
If patient dies to Bed Monster, treat as neglect penalty—Speed Cola helps reposition bodies faster.
Co-op Room Protocol
Before DNA in suspicious room, sweep bed perimeter. Runner holds Syrup; treater stands at foot opposite red zone.
Call "Bed Monster Room 4" globally so Ambulance runners avoid entering blindly.
After Syrup despawn, resume normal treatment items from monitor icon.
Avoiding Item Confusion
Maple Syrup dual use confuses new players—low sugar versus monster bait. Read monitor first when no grab active; read grab first when hands visible.
Do not use Medicine or Bandage on monster—it ignores them.
Stock extra Syrup during shifts with multiple bed rooms active.
